Creating Wealth is a mortgage brokerage based in the Waikato, New Zealand. We help you reach your home ownership and property investment goals, to create wealth. We give you the best options and advice with your lending, working with you through the entire process of purchasing a home from start to finish.

How does it work?

Creating Wealth acts as an intermediary between you and the bank. We also work closely with your lawyer, accountant and any other professionals giving you the best options and advice with your lending.

We help you assess your financial situation: your income, deposit size and credit history, to guide you when deciding which home loan to apply for.

Plus, if you don’t have an understanding of the home loan industry or how a home loan works, we make it easy for you, by helping you every step of the way and we have your best interests at heart.

We are with you through the entire process of purchasing a home, from start to finish. Plus, we’ll keep in touch and check-in once a year to review your lending and ensure it is fit for purpose, no matter your situation, so your lending fits as your life changes.

How do I know I’m getting the best deal?

Because we’re mortgage brokers, we don’t just offer one banks’ home loan options. We deal with lots of lenders, giving you more options to choose from. Our longstanding lender relationships and expert industry knowledge mean’s you’ll have access to a multitude of options, products and interest rates. So, there is no need to do all the work of finding the best interest rate – we do that for you!

​Why is it Free?

Using us is FREE – you don’t pay anything to us for a standard residential mortgage. We are paid by the lender when the home loan is drawn down. There may however be a charge for commercial contracts or non-bank lending. This varies case by case, but we’ll advise you of any fee at the start of your initial consultation.

Jen McIvor is the founder and owner of Creating Wealth. Home lending and property investing are absolute passions of Jen's, and she started Creating Wealth wanting to help others learn and provide support with home lending. 

Jen is a Registered Financial Adviser - specialising in lending, with a degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Waikato. With extensive lending experience within the banking industry and working in the legal industry, Jen has a unique understanding of the entire home purchase and lending process. She works closely with other professionals to give you the best advice and service. 

Jen is also passionate about property, investing in it herself. She is a member of the Waikato Property investors association and keeps up to date with what is happening in the market through news, podcasts and avid reading. 

Through Creating Wealth, Jen aims to break the common New Zealand trend of borrowers using their own bank as a default.

Kylee Charteris

Mortgage Adviser Cambridge  

Kylee is an experienced professional in the finance industry with 16 years of expertise. 

Kylee joined Creating Wealth in 2022. She is a Registered Financial Adviser - specialising in home lending and is qualified with Level 5 in Financial Services. 

Prior to becoming a mortgage adviser, she worked at several banks specialising in home lending and relationship management. She has also worked in insurance as a rural account manager and rural consultant.

Customer-focused, she always puts her clients first. She particularly enjoys helping clients get into their first family home.
